Elizabeth is the co-founder and “CJO” of Jackets for Jasper. She imports custom-designed, Nepali-made down jackets in over 100 colours and sells them online and at pop-up shops throughout winter. 40. DEREK JUNO:
Shortly after graduating from the Gustavson School of Business, VP of Business Development Derek Juno joined the successful social enterprise, Mealshare. The rapidly growing non-profit operates a ‘buy one, give one’ hunger relief program with restaurants and social programs. When customers buy a Mealshare branded item in a partner restaurant, a meal is provided for someone in need. Derek calls it the “Tom’s Shoes for food”. Today he Helps run the day to day operations of Mealshare, and is Responsible for BC and Ontario development, partner acquisition, and operations. 41. DAVE SAVORY:
Dave’s entrepreneurship journey started with running a painting franchise in Victoria, BC to help offset the costs of his education and get real world experience. He found that Working 70+ hours a week and having a team and clients who depend on him is an exhilarating experience, especially as a young student. Now he is the cofounder of Riipen. Riipen challenges students to demonstrate the specific skills that companies will be hiring for. 45. RAY WALIA:
Ray has been an integral part of the movement to make Vancouver…Canada’s leading hotspot for innovation and technology. In 2012, Ray co-founded Launch Academy. Designed to provide an open and collaborative environment for early-stage entrepreneurs to share ideas, receive mentorship and grow. To date, Launch Academy has helped over 350 companies to collectively raise over $45 million, and created over 500 jobs in the local economy. 46. NADIA STEFYN:
Nadia is a web content writer who moved to Vancouver in 2010 from Australia. She promptly fell in love with Canada and with a Canadian.
